Dieting Tips That Will Help You Achieve Your Goals and Then Some!

"What?!?", you might be thinking. "Doesn't Dr. Peter Osborne, the Gluten Free Warrior, recommend a gluten-free diet?"

Well, the answer is yes, absolutely.

But what I mean is that all of those so-called 'gluten-free' products you see in stores, bakeries, and even in pizza shops are a complete joke. They are ALL lies.

You see, it doesn't matter whether you've been 'gluten free' for a while, or just discovered you're gluten sensitive, it's likely you're not getting better because, as Dr. O says, you're
still eating at least one of these common 'gluten free' foods:

1. Corn

From corn tortillas to corn chips to corn flakes, despite what you've heard, corn is NOT a safe gluten free alternative. On the contrary, corn contains a gluten protein called zein, and while it hasn't been studied nearly as aggressively as the wheat gluten, gliadin, researchers are finding that people with gluten sensitivity do react to it.

2. Rice

This one probably comes as a bit of surprise, but yes, even rice has gluten in it. In reality though, the academic argument has never been over whether or not rice contains gluten,

but rather whether or not the type of gluten in rice creates damage. And like its gluten protein cousins, zein and gliadin, research suggests that rice gluten can cause inflammation in the gut of children.

3. & 4. Millet and Buckwheat

Living things generally don't like to be eaten by other living things. That's why skunks spray, dogs bite, and porcupines have sharply pointed quills. But what about plants with seeds, like millet and buckwheat... how do they protect themselves from being eaten? Simple, they contain anti-nutrient properties, such as gluten, lectins, and phytates, all of which wreak havoc on your body. I'll dive into these anti-nutrients another day, but suffice to say, researchers now believe that "The allergens in rice, corn, millet and buckwheat should be better studied before they can be recommended as alternatives for cereal allergic children."

5. Quinoa

Now this one just might be the most surprising on the list. Ever since being touted as a safe alternative to wheat, rye, barley, and oats, quinoa consumption has been on the rise. So why does Dr. O say you should avoid it?

The problem with quinoa is that it's often processed in a facility where other gluten-basedgrains are processed, and this cross-contamination, even microscopic amounts, can lead to unpleasant, even dangerous, reactions for some.

Plus, new research shows that some quinoa varieties are capable of stimulating an immune response as toxic as wheat gluten, and you begin to understand why quinoa should not be a part of a diet to lose weight.

Dieting = Will Power Versus Won't Power

What on earth is that supposed to mean? I hear you ask - good question.

Well here's my rationale.

Personally I used to really struggle with dieting. The main reason being that it meant I'd have to be strong willed, disciplined and I'd have to deny myself all the things I love to eat and drink. So when skinny people say things like 'I don't understand how someone can get so fat' I feel like screaming at them 'You have no idea how hard it is'. And let's face it, it really is hard.

Let's be totally honest here

Dieting is no fun what so ever. So why is that?

For me it was that my Won't Power was stronger than my Will Power. In other words I found it easier to make excuses and put off making the commitment, telling myself 'I won't start my diet this week because I've just been shopping and I can't waste all the food and drink I've bought' or 'I won't start until the summer' or 'I won't start until I'm not so busy' or 'I won't start while the kids are off school'. The number of excuses I could find were endless.

Well I've recently decided that I would like to lose another stone and I've been trying to figure out the least painful, least effort route to do that.

So I looked at what I eat and drink and thought - cappuccino!

Really - I hear you gasp. Yes, really - I figured there's about 95 calories in the ones I use which come in a sachet ready mixed with coffee, powdered milk and sweetener. So if I have 3 a day that's 285 calories a day just in cappuccino. Multiply that by 7 days a week that's around 2000 calories I could cut out just by giving up my cappuccinos.

But I don't want to give up my cappuccinos

This is when my Won't Power came face to face with my Will Power and battle commenced!

So what happened was that there was much negotiation with my conflicting 'Powers' and we reached a mutually agreeable arrangement so that I now have one sachet of cappuccino a day and two on Sundays as an extra treat while I read the Sunday papers. And that's still a reduction in my calorie intake of around 1400 a week, which over a month I reckon will equate to a couple of pounds weight loss. Take that a step further and I reckon if I do that for about a year I'll have lost that stone.

So I've renamed my Will Power as Will Find A Way Power - and Won't Power has been shown the door...

The moral to this story being that you really can eat a whole elephant! No seriously - what I have found is that small changes can make a massive difference over time and you can lose weight.

This article is intended for entertainment purposes only and it is recommended that you seek medical advice when making changes to your diet or lifestyle.

How to Diet, What to Do Before You Start Dieting

How to diet and lose weight without breaking the bank has been the million dollar question for decades, and many have attempted to answer. Yet what most fail to realize is that preparation for dieting is the missing key which most dieters miss.

Before people begin to excise or to run a long race, they know that preparation is important and they comply. Yet, when it comes to losing weight people often times just jump in and start the process without preparing the mind or the body for the event of losing weight.

And then they wonder, what went wrong, when their efforts don't produce the results they are looking for.

Diet Detox

It is simple, in preparing the body to lose weight or for that matter any major adjustment, you want to explore the words "diet detox" You may think this is some kind of new fab trend designed to separate you from your money, but think again! While the rules of detoxing your body may seem like a fad diet, due to no grains, milk, sugar, and of course alcohol, the hidden facts behind a diet detox is to help renew your body and give your organs, liver, kidneys and bowels help in keeping you healthy. Detoxing helps to eliminate waste from the body and takes the stain off of these vital organs and helps you to stay younger and health.

Losing weight while you detox your body is only an added benefit and is important in preparing your mind and your body for the event of losing weight.

There are many different detox diets available, and choosing the detox method that is most comfortable for you is important to your success. Detoxification does not have to be expensive.

When detoxing, you want to enjoy foods such as fish, vegetables, kidney beans, eggs, nuts, raw almonds and a variety of other nuts. Green tea and water are a definite part of the diet detox procedure.

Seven days is a good length of time to detox the body, however if you have been eating read meat, and pork for 40 years, seven days may not be long enough. Consult with your physician to be sure that your efforts are healthy for you.

The Diet Patch

There is no doubt about it, the "diet patch" combined with a diet detox will provide success in your dieting efforts. The diet patch helps to control your appetite, stimulates the metabolism, and nourishes the muscular system of the body. And even more important, the diet patch helps to eliminate toxins from the body while reducing water retention.

When you add in the fact that there are no drugs, pills or shake recipes, you realize that you have hit the jack pot when it comes to losing weight.

Please Stop Dieting - 5 Reasons Diets Fail

Since we're at the beginning of a new year... and many people decide to get in better shape with the turn of each year, let's chat about diets.

Before we begin, I have to confess that I am not a proponent of diets (did you guess that from my title?). You will find a few on my site, but I have carefully hand-picked them, and they all have one thing in common. More on that later.

Dieting is the limitation or reduction in amount of food a person can eat when trying to reduce their weight. On the surface it makes sense. I am overweight. Therefore I must have eaten too much food to get this way. I will reduce the amount of food I eat so this excess weight will go away.

However, it doesn't exactly work that way.

I wonder where we got the idea that overweight comes from over-food? In actuality, one of the causes of obesity comes from under-food. Reducing our food intake makes our bodies think we are starving. When we starve ourselves, our miraculous body has an app for that! In times of famine, our body plumps up to save our lives from starvation, cold, etc. If you can remember that diets=famine, you will leave the dieting train forever and begin true weight loss and health gain.

Just in case you aren't convinced, here are my top five reasons most diets fail.

1. Diets Focus on Calories, Not Nutrition

Whenever you find yourself counting calories, please stop. Calories don't matter. {gasp} What matters is the nutrient content of the food you are eating. Did you know the calorie count is the same for half a cantaloupe and one-quarter of a blueberry muffin? Yet clearly the nutritional value is light years apart.

2. Diets Are Designed To Be Temporary

Diets change how you "usually" eat, therefore when you are done with the diet, you go back to how you used to eat, and, unfortunately, how much you used to weigh. If an eating plan cannot be followed for the rest of your life, don't do it.

3. Restriction of Food Has Been Proven to Cause Weight Gain

What?? Refer back to diets=famine and you'll get what I mean here.

4. Diets Focus on Protein, Carbs and Fats

Many diets skew these three one way or another. High Protein, Low Carb, Low Fat. When protein, carbs, and fat are used to determine food eligibility for a particular diet, the dieter misses out on the nutrients in the food types that have been eliminated or reduced.

5. Diets Cause Mental Collapse

OK, not really. But when you put limitations on what you can eat, you are setting yourself up for failure. Your mind will focus on what it can NOT have and you will be miserable... and will most likely fall off the wagon. Another side to this coin is that often diets require you to change almost everything about how you eat. This can be overwhelming all at once, and again, failure or inaction are the result.

By the way, even though I don't agree with restricting food, I am a firm believer in restricting or eliminating non-foods from your eating plan, such as MSG, trans fats, fake sweeteners, chemicals, etc. You were never meant to eat these... so stop it!

The fact is, you need to eat food, and lots of it! But more importantly, you need to be nourished by the foods that your body was designed to consume. When this happens, you run in optimal condition. We call that being healthy.

I hope you're convinced to stop the uselessness of dieting. Start out right with the proper information that will allow you to achieve your weight and health goals.

PS Still wondering what the one thing all the diets on my site have in common? They all feature real live food. Amazing.

How To Get a Great Looking Body Working Out 5 Days Each Week And Without Dieting

It's time to get more specific. To me that's what separates an attainable goal from a daydream.

When I have really wanted to achieve something as far as getting in better shape, I needed to be specific about what it was I wanted, writing it down, and most important: have a specific step by step plan with proven results behind it. Then it's just a matter of executing by doing what it takes every day.

With fitness it all builds over time. When you see a successful program like P90X or CrossFit, they each will give you a steady dose of this principle of incremental improvement, coupled with great structure.

As I've talked about many times before, the reason I love programs is you have structure and accountability which many times you don't have when you make it up yourself. At the same time, I have found that once you start to master the general principles of an effective regular approach, following just one program may be less necessary.

What is the advantage of gaining that level of knowledge and experience? Well the more variety you can inject into your exercise program, the better your results. Plus it will be less likely you quit from boredom.

First Things First. You Need to Do A Structured Full Body Workout Program

The reason I advise this is because you need to understand the power of structure, proper form, variety, daily accountability, and recording your results for incremental improvements. If you haven't done something like Power Half Hour from Beachbody or the ever-popular P90X, or a gym program like Cross Fit, you should do so and experience all the positives.

If you have, don't worry about this pre-requisite and go on to the suggested workout I am sharing.

About the Diet Thing: How Can I Not Be On A Diet and Still Get the Body I Want?

Well I will spare you the cliche' about diets being a failure. This isn't necessarily true by the strictest definition. We need to have a general structure for what to eat and to a lesser extent: how much? This structure is a diet even if it doesn't come from a book or TV doctor.

What I want you to do is explore the possibilities of eating all you want of the right things, but also enjoying yourself with some of the wrong things for a day or two a month. You can and probably would be better off in the long run by not being overly strict. When we are talking about eating or working out, we want to focus on doing things that are both effective and sustainable. This means that we need to able to make it part of our regimen for years and years to come without great inconvenience. Being too strict is unsustainable generally.

So here is the plan: Check out the basic concepts of the paleo nutrition plan and put them into practice for about 80% of your total food intake. The key is to eat all you want and not worry about calories.

A Workout You Can Do 5 Days A Week to Get An Awesome Body in About 12 Weeks

The Ground Rules: We want you working out 5 days a week for 30 to 45 minutes under timed conditions. Write everything down so you can track your progress. The order isn't overly important except that if you go heavy arms with my pull-up workout, you are better off taking a day between working them again. This isn't set in stone, but it's a decent idea.

Day 1--A combination of legs and pull-ups. This is the very formula found in the P90X "Legs and Back" workout. You don't have to use that one exactly, but I do think it is really effective. The thing about pull-ups and leg resistance work is they reshape the body fast. If I had a choice of never lifting weights again but keep pull-ups, I'd probably take it. They really work you. If you can't do one pull-up, use a chair to push off with your legs until you do.

Day 2-- High intensity cardio. I am a big fan of Insanity with Shaun T. If you aren't into a program, go do 10 to 15 50-yard sprints with minimal rest. High intensity cardio is sorely lacking in most of our workout programs. It's a shame because it's hugely important in getting the most return for your time.

Day 3-- More high intensity cardio. You can do sprints again, but change-up the distances and reps. Also add 10 minutes of body weight work on the back-end. Try like a 5 minute abs routine and 5 minutes of body weight work. Jump on YouTube and you can find too many of both to count.

Day 4--Power Yoga. It really doesn't matter which program you choose. Yoga is the fountain of youth and will make you stronger and better at everything. You also will experience a more calm focused mind.

Day 5--Weight training circuit with core work. This is where I would do an upper body workout like 10 Minute Trainer or Power Half Hour with Tony Horton. If you don't have access to these programs, Google a total body workout program with weights. Make sure it is short, timed, and that you keep track of your results so you can seek improvement each time.

Then take a couple days off but stay active. With my workout, you won't be so burned out that all you want to do is sit.

I Need To Change My Dieting Habits

Even if you're a seasoned dieter like I am, you wonder how you can get to the next step or how to make diet a part of your lifestyle and actually make it work for you.

If this sounds all too familiar read on! One of the first things you need to ask yourself is this: "You need to determine where you are in order to know what you need to do next". Make sense? Whether you're thinking about dieting for the first time in your life or you're trying to make your new diet something permanent, there are specific things you can do to take your diet to the next level.

Are you at the point where you may be sick of having people in your life talking about dieting? Maybe you may be completely disinterested in changing anything about yourself or your routine. Your happy with being size xxx, avoiding friends and family, not doing the things you use to do (Note to self: take inventory of your life right now and see just what activities and events that you no longer do that maybe you enjoyed one year ago, five years ago, longer?) Do you have some health problems or feel a like you'd like to be a smaller clothing size, but you're not really that interested in dieting yet. If that's the case, you're in the "pre-contemplation" stage of dieting. That simply means that you're not interested in making any kind of changes in your eating habits and activity levels right now. That's OK if you are happy with that decision; don't feel like you have to beat yourself up over "I have go on a diet" sometimes we just need to give ourselves permission to say it is OK.

However, you may be having that nagging feeling that even though you're not interested in a change, it may be something good for you? We all have that inner voice that tells us to do something even when we really don't want to. I know losing 10-20 pounds would lower my cholesterol and blood pressure and every day I start out with "this is the day!" Just how long it last depends on what happens during the day- if you can relate to this you know just what I am talking about: Life Happens! But we march on...

I know you are anxious to get started with a new diet but you need to get your mind used to the idea of making a change. You also don't want to dive into something for which you aren't prepared for. Instead, take a few days or even week(s) to educate yourself and find out what you think will work best for you. Remember you did not arrive at this spot overnight so give yourself time to prepare which will increase your chances of success.

Dieting Rubbish

Science Free Dieting Rubbish

Your body is a machine and dieting is a science. Unfortunately, there are plenty of diets out there that are far from proven and tend to place the term pseudo at the fore of the aforementioned 'S' word. Below are the diet myths that cause scientists and dieticians to frown and scratch their chins in bemusement.

Fat Free

Throughout the 1980s the notion that a fat free diet would result in a fat free body was touted. However, there is a current belief that this notion is partially to blame for the increasing obesity rates and the diabetes problem.

One of the reasons for this is that the reduction of fat means the food doesn't taste as good and so the food companies substituted fat with sugars/sweeteners and salt. Fat is also necessary for a healthy brain, skin and heart function and so eliminating it is simply not a good idea.

Grazing

This recent fad may not live up to the claims that it aids weight loss. Regularly eating handfuls of nuts and constantly sipping smoothies racks up the calories and many people lose their gauge and can't tell how much they've eaten. Though going too long without eating is an issue, grazing can end up becoming an eating free for all.

You can Eat as you Wish - Once you Exercise

The amount of exercise needed to lose a pound of fat is 3,500 calories or thereabouts and exercise is not a way to lose weight unless you are also looking at what you eat. If you eat as you wish, it can be hard for even the healthiest and fittest to keep the weight off. Exercise is vital, but it does not impact as much as many people think on weight. That said it's amazing for skin, bones, muscles and your mind and does still play a pivotal role in weight loss, health and wellbeing.

Power Bars

Energy bars, which are in essence processed food, were once thought to encourage weight loss. So, what was the pseudo-science behind this? These foods were filled with vitamins and minerals and other 'healthy' additions thought to aid wellbeing.

In reality, they are highly processed and full of sugar and so provide an excess of energy and tend to lead to weight gain. The notion of a meal in a sugary bar is not one that is going to help you.

Juice Detox and Smoothies are Weight Loss Tools

According to Boston University, we don't gauge the number of calories in liquids nearly as well as we do for those in food. This means they are less satisfying and confuse our internal counter and so we often indulge a little too much. Though the blame is often pointed at diet drinks; juices and smoothies are as much to blame and are full of sugars and calories. Simply, water is the safest bet.

A diet that's balanced in all things is the only way to stay healthy. I know that doesn't sound as sexy or interesting as a magic bar but that doesn't mean it isn't true.

I Need A Break From Dieting!

This time of the year I seem to have a terrible time of sticking to any kind of diet; everywhere I go: work, church, friends' houses there is an abundance of holiday goodies to snack on, and I just cannot avoid temptation! Don't get me wrong here, there always seems to be alternative healthy snacks- you know the green and orange ones that look pretty but just are not satisfying to my sweet tooth.

Since the holiday eat-a-thon actually starts with Halloween and continues until Easter it is no wonder that my jeans are too tight, nothing fits right and shopping for something that does fits is just depressing when I have to buy something that has a W following the actual size.

I don't know about you all but the harder I try to lose weight the harder it gets. Is it me or what? I eat three meals a day, have healthy snacks (fruit, nuts), try not to eat after dinner, drink lots of water, avoid sugary drinks, watch the carbs, avoid pop, take a brisk walk most days. Get plenty of sleep -8hrs, stay busy when home, at work I sit a lot at the computer which I know is bad, but it is an office so other than a few steps to the copier or assist a customer, not much activity, I do walk on my lunch to break up the day so that helps. Doctor says I am healthy just need to lose a few pounds-ugh!

Short of not eating anything at all (which is not good for you) I diet on! I think that makes me a professional dieter- I have been looking for a new job- maybe this is my sign "Professional Dieter" I certainly have a lot of experience at it, can testify to what works and what has failed. This makes me chuckle-at least writing about my dieting challenges enlightens me- I hope you can relate.

Everyone has their special challenges when it comes to weight loss, thou they never seem to be a challenge for someone else. One challenge that always comes up is that "there is not enought time in the day to eat right, exercise and follow a diet at the same time. Mastering just one would help accelerate the weight loss challenge, but which one to start with? Pick the easiest one that way success will follow and other two will fall in place.

Marilyn Rae of http://dietingforwomen.com/ I invite you to my blog to explore and review additional information on dieting and weight loss.

Revealed - The 5 Most Popular Dieting Myths Exposed, How Guilty Are You?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

1. Skipping a meal to lose weight

Skipping meals, especially breakfast, can make you feel tired and hungry and more likely to reach for high-fat, high-calorie snacks because in times of stress (and missing a meal is stressing your body) you are hardwired by evolution to search for sugar, salt and fat. In fact, people who eat breakfast are more likely to maintain a healthy weight than those who don't.

2. Restricting types of food

If you eat nothing but celery all day long for a week you will, of course, lose weight and probably turn green in the process. However, diets that drastically cut calories will quickly become boring because you are hardwired to seek variety and so won't be effective in the long run. It's not necessary to starve to lose weight; making small changes to your lifestyle that you can stick to for the long-term is the key to success.

3. No goodies

Depriving yourself of all the foods that you enjoy won't work. You'll eventually give in and abandon your efforts, the reason for this is very simple... what you resist persists. Try not thinking of your favourite snack right now, no seriously don't think of it.See what I mean, you resisted and it persisted, now imagine trying to do that all day every day there's no harm in having a treat now and again as long as it is not your staple diet.

4. No eating after 6pm

It really doesn't matter when you eat if you are eating over and above the recommended calorific intake. A calorie is a calorie no matter what time of the day! It's a lot healthier for your digestive system not to eat a big meal before you go to bed, as it should be in the rest and repair mode, but a late dinner will not make you any fatter than an early one. As a matter of fact it is quite possible the body will try to "make up" the shortfall the next day, so you will have defeated the purpose of restricting yourself.

5. Losing fat from certain areas

Unfair as it may seem, you can't pick and choose where you gain or lose weight, wouldn't it be great if you could though? When you lose fat, it is lost throughout the entire body. Zoning in on one area of the body when you exercise will develop better muscle tone in that area but it won't remove fat... Sorry, why am I saying sorry it's not my fault... blame evolution.

Look over this list again and use it for your weight loss goals, research and find out what will work for you... and then do it, not next week not when you feel the time is right, today and every day until you get what you want.

Why Your Last Diet Failed - Cut the Cord on Yo-Yo Dieting

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

For many people, losing weight isn't a big problem. They simply cut out all the "fattening" foods that they are eating and drinking. Unfortunately, those are probably the foods that you love the most.

But a frustrating thing happens to 95% of all people who diet. They gain the weight back, PLUS additional punishment pounds within a few months to a couple of years! Yes, all that deprivation, working out, starvation, only to gain the weight back. The worst part is, you actually gain back additional weight over where you started.

This process has been called Yo-Yo dieting. You go down, you go up. The diet industry blames the dieter for not staying on that miserable tasteless diet for the rest of their lives, and says that's the reason why the dieter failed, and the weight was regained! The poor dieter, who only went on the diet because of feeling lousy about themselves in the first place, is all too willing to feel guilty, and take the blame on themselves INSTEAD of the fact that diets don't work.

And yes, the Diet Industry wants you to think that in order to lose weight, you are expected to give up your favorite foods and deprive yourself and exercise like a farm animal for the rest of your life. But the truth is, the reason your weight is regained is NOT the dieter's fault. The reason you probably gained the weight is because you dieted in the first place!

Diet Myth-information

The bigger the lie, the more likely it is to be believed. And that's true for the "Common Wisdom" about dieting. Diet myth-information has been repeated so many times, that people take it for being the truth without questioning it. The statement that all you have to do to lose weight is "eat less and exercise more" actually the worst thing you can do if you want to lose weight!

But you are probably ready to stop reading right now because you believe this common wisdom that has brainwashed you! In fact, so many dieters believe it that despite diet failure time and again, they are more likely to blame themselves than the fact that the DIET is at fault! That's right: It's not your fault that you gained the weight back. It was your body's NORMAL, healthy reaction to being deprived of food!

The Definition of Insanity: When you do the same thing over and over again and expect different results.

So why is it that dieters continue try the same approach to weight loss time after time? They get the same results every time: losing weight to begin, and then regaining it shortly thereafter.

All the diet plans, especially lose weight fast, Fad diets, celebrity diets, diet pills, diet supplements, exercise regimes and even surgery has not been able to help more than 5% of the dieting population to keep the weight off!

Your body has a natural set point that is inherited, just like your other physical characteristics. If you eat "normally" by not using "comfort food" like a drug when you are stressed, your weight will stay within a 2-3 pound range by itself. In fact, it's a very sophisticated system, like a thermostat. If you eat fewer calories, your body automatically slows down your metabolism, and makes you feel lethargic. If you exercise too much, it makes you extra hungry and makes you crave carbs! This is a healthy body's reaction to eat less and exercise more! Furthermore, dieting puts your body into a stressful state which changes your physiology and makes losing weight almost impossible! I call it a "waist of dieting", because stress puts on belly fat!

How To Lose Weight and Keep It Off

So how can you lose weight if cutting calories will just slow down your metabolism? It sounds like it would be hopeless. The way it to eat more good foods, and cut down and eat the ones that are not good for you less.

Unfortunately, people have been brainwashed by the myth-information about eating "heart healthy" low fat food. The truth is: Heart disease has gone UP since people switched to vegetable oils (soy, canola, corn, margarine) that were recommended by the USDA in the food pyramid. Good fats actually make you feel full longer, and are necessary to lose weight, and for your overall health! What are good fats? BUTTER, Coconut, Palm, Olive oil... and animal fats: Praise the Lard! But with the priviso: the animal fat must be from animals that were raised humanely and lived free range and didn't eat bad foods such as GM foods and High Fructose Corn Syrup!

The number one important thing to lose weight is to lose the stress. It's not just what you are eating, it's what's eating you! Food will not provide comfort, and if over-eaten, especially when you are not hungry, will just make you feel worse about yourself after you stop eating!

Nurture yourself with good food. And that means having an occasional treat! Eat mindfully, paying attention to enjoying and experiencing your food. You'll notice when you are full, and stop eating. Essentially, eat like a two - year old. Eat what you want, when you are hungry, and stop when you're full. But please don't smush the food all over your face like a two year old, it's very unattractive!

Seriously, enjoy your life, and your weight will adjust! 80% of overweight is due to emotional eating. So stop stressing and blaming yourself for your diet not working. Focus your life on being happy, and watch your weight adjust almost by magic: without dieting!

Basic Tip to Losing Weight Without Dieting

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

I do have a weight issue.

However, I am usually not bothered by it. I will only look into the problem when I have to start spending money for new clothes; I can no longer fit into the current one. I mean, I will rather spent the money on food instead.

Having less money to spend on food will be enough to at least make me think about going on a diet.

So how do I try to lose weight?

I will usually turn to a diet or exercise programme. Unfortunately, I will always have problem trying to keep up with any of the diet or exercise regimes.

I know that exercise is good for me but somehow, exercising makes me susceptible to allergic attacks.

You see, I am allergic to sweats that comes about from hard, physical labour. It makes me itch, tired and hungry. Therefore, to minimize any adverse reactions from exercising, I sometimes skip some of the exercise routine. Okay, most of the routine! Generally, I figured if it is making me so uncomfortable, it must not be good. So I stop exercising, for now.

Going on a dieting usually do allow me to lose some weight. The problem is that it put me in an endless struggle with myself. I will be constantly pounded by the feeling of guilt. I do not like that feeling, especially when I am trying to finish the chocolate dessert. Anyway the weight loss is usually temporary. Somehow, I will gain more weight once I stop dieting. So there is no point to losing weight if it keeps coming back, right?

Is there hope for me?

How can I lose that weight without dieting?

I am medically unfit to exercise and yet I am unable to go on a diet. Is there any answer to my problem?

The answer I find, is actually simple.

The tip is; to identify and change my habit. Simple right? Why didn't I discover this earlier?

What makes me do the same thing everyday? What will make me be a different person?

It is my habits! So the thing that makes me fat is my habits! There you go...

I now know that my success at maintaining my current weight, losing it and then keeping it off relies completely on whether I can change my habits. Once I change my habits, then I will become the kind of person who can naturally manage my weight issues, without force or excuse.

So how do I go about changing my habits?

To do that, I must first correct my aim. I should aim to manage my current weight, then slowly lose any extra weight and then keep it off.

It should no longer be about how fast I can get rid of my excess weight.

Once I have my aim right, then I should zoom in on my focus. My focus is to change my habits. I will not be able to succeed if I keep doing the same thing over and over again. It will not yield any different results no matter how hard I try. I don't have to go on a diet again. I just need to make changes to my habit.

However, the changes I make must last and something that I can live with for the rest of my life. In order to make the changes last, everything I do should fit seamlessly into my life and yet allow me to still have a fun, enjoyable life. It is always best to lose weight easily, naturally and without dieting. I can only do this by changing my current habits.

Having said that, changing a person's habit is not so simple. Fortunately, in this current age and technology, I am sure there will always be references to show the proper way. A guide to make the transition easier and to explain the do's and don'ts. I just have to choose the one that will work for me.

Are You Afraid of Dieting?

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota

You might be afraid of dieting - even the word scares most of us. Why? Because we feel we will fail. You may not know this but 90% - 95% of Women's Self Esteem is based on their body image. Surprising? Based on my nearly 20 years in practice I have seen, felt and heard the pain surrounding how we women feel about our bodies. It can be heartbreaking and yet so real. It affects everything in our lives. We care too much or we don't care enough. I am not a big advocate for dieting, in general, because most diets are designed to fail and they do not take into account hormonal imbalance, improper sleep habits, stress and emotional eating patterns and physiological effects. But most importantly they don't take into account the crucial thing - one crucial thing - our thoughts.

Most of us want the Perfect Body. So we decide to go on a diet and exercise. We essentially DO a Diet for a few weeks and then give up. Do you want to know the Real Secret to Weight Loss? You actually need to Become The Person who has a Perfect Body even before you have it otherwise your efforts will only be temporary...

You must change your thoughts in order to have what you want. It's really not the diet that counts it's who you have to be to follow the diet. Millions look for the right diet and then focus on what they have to do rather than who they have to be. Total new concept for most of us I know. A diet will not help you if you don't change your thoughts. That's where the real work begins. It's an inside job.

As I have been sharing with many of you lately "Your real work starts only after you lose your desired weight." Usually we can lose weight - the real miracle, however, is in keeping it off. But even before the weight comes off you have to be ready to change on the inside. When thinking of changing your eating, improving your health and deciding to "diet" you may want to ask some questions.

6 Revealing Questions You can Ask Yourself before Embarking on a "Diet":

1) Are you more committed to staying the same or to changing? This is a tough one because you say you want to change - but do you really? Are you willing to do what it takes - to stick to it no matter what? Or will you be led astray the first time you are tempted with the chocolate cake or chips and salsa? Sometimes it's not the actual food but the addictive patterns that seem to develop after you take that first bite.

2) Does the pain of having more weight feel normal to you? I find sometimes we are very committed to our story - even though you say you don't want to have the weight you presently have and feeling uncomfortable with the extra 10 + lbs. After all what would you have to complain about or beat yourself up about? I know this is perhaps harsh - these are the deeper questions you need to ask yourself. When you lose weight, as is often the case, you start seeing your life differently and the things that appeared "fine" may not be so fine and they require some changes to be made. Yet when one thing changes expect other parts of your life to change - and not too worry it could be for the better and hopefully it is for the better.

3) Are you ready to make a change in your life? Change can be frightening. We get so comfortable in our discomfort that we can't imagine anything different and better. We tolerate things when we needn't tolerate them. It's a big decision to actually start eating healthy and not relying on whatever happens to be in the fridge, grocery store or drive- through. We go to dinner and feel we must have everything on our plate and oh we must have that divine bread in that heavenly basket which is calling our name. Why would we want to give this up? It's entertainment, social and rewarding. I can't live without eating whatever I want you might say to yourself. But what is the price? When you stand in front of the mirror feeling hopeless when absolutely have NOTHING fits you - are you ready to make a change then?

4) Are you letting distractions sabotage your efforts? Everything else takes priority - after all who am I you might ask? Tommy baseball game is more important than my silly diet - right? This work project needs to get done - after all it's my job and it's more important than getting to the store and stocking my kitchen with healthy foods. Oh, I'm having guests over this week and they'll want to go out to dinner every night - I'll just eat what they eat and not make a fuss. These are only a few examples of how sabotaging your efforts can de-rail you on an ongoing basis. There will always be something that comes up - always.

5) Are you wanting to lose weight for you or for someone else? Does someone in your life let you know they aren't happy about your present body shape? They may not come out and say it (although some blatantly do) but you may hear some subtle and even hurtful clues and comments. The proverbial question (which never should be asked of a man - it's just so unfair to ask them) "Do I look fat in this?" Is this really your perception or the observer's? It is a no win set up question. But if someone in your life is making you feel less than because you may have put a few lbs make sure that it's something you want to do and not just people please. That, again, is a no win situation. People pleasing will never get you what you want in life.

6) Are you unrealistic about your weight loss goals? I sometimes have clients come in wanting to lose weight quickly or want to be at a healthy weight they were at when they were 19 and now they are 50.If this is the case, you are just setting yourself up for disappointment. Setting realistic and healthy goals is a must. You should never be losing more than 1-3 lbs per week. If you are it is mostly muscle mass which is very unhealthy. Yes, certainly the first week of you will lose more and most of that is water weight but after that stick to a slow and steady weight loss pace. And expect a plateau - that is a natural phenomenon and will easily be remedied by tweaking a few things either in your diet or in your exercise regimen.

7) Are You 3 Feet From Gold? This is really about quitting - quitting just before you arrive. Don't quit - you may be just at the point when you are about to make progress whether it's a plateau or you've lost all the weight you wanted to. Again, after the weight comes off the real work begins. Make sure you have a good maintenance strategy in place. This is the most vulnerable time after you've lost the weight. You may think you are safe and invincible and start eating "the weight gaining foods" - lots of starches, sugars, etc. Your portions sizes may start to increase. Or you may start eating late at night. These habits are so tricky - they seem to re-enter your life when you least expect them to. So prepare yourself and find professional support system.

Most important - remember always Honor Your Body and Yourself and treat yourself like Gold.
