Because you get hungry faster, you over eat and as such gain weight. If you replace these with complex carbohydrates, vegetables, fruits and oatmeal, you should be fine.

Third tip is to do low-intensity aerobic exercises. Cardio workouts such as walking, running skipping exercise all your muscle groups whereas strength training tends to focus on particular muscle groups. In addition strength training requires down time in order for you to recover while cardio you can do whenever. However doing both is fine and recommended. A great idea to maximize workout intensity is to have a cup of coffee before a workout as it will energize you (especially if it's early in the morning).
