How I Lost Weight Using Granola Bars, Full Meals and Lots of Water

Key Fact: More than 1.9 billion people worldwide were overweight in 2010, a 25 percent increase since 2002. Also, the United States (Mexico is not far behind) leads all industrialized countries, 78.6 percent of their adult population is overweight.

I want to share my simple/straightforward on-going experience with you regarding this most important issue. In 2010 I was one of those people who were overweight. Due to the worldwide financial crisis (still affecting many of us) it was difficult to have access to popular/recognized diet-weight loss programs; we could not afford them.

Solution: Due to their very affordable prices/healthy nutrition ingredients (whole grain being the main factor) we decided to use "Nature Valley Granola Bars" to lose weight/keep it off. The ones we used were mainly the "Oats 'N Honey" package.

Why did we choose Nature Valley Oats 'N Honey Crunchy Granola Bars: The first thing I noticed on the packaging of these granola bars was the "100% Natural" banner. Nature Valley Oats 'N Honey Crunchy Granola Bars (NVGB) are made from whole grains and give you an excellent source of fiber. It has a fresh and natural taste to it with a hint of sweetness from the honey. This particular granola bar is the official natural energy bar of the Professional Golf Association Tour (PGA).

Each package contains two bars which total 1.5 oz. and contain 190 calories. I've been very satisfied with these bars and love the nutrition provided; they contain 16 g of whole grain per serving; at least 48 g are recommended daily. Side to side crunches will help to develop the sides of the abdominal muscles. Just as one move up straight, one will also want to move to the side. Start with one side and pull up to lean towards that side. Do 8 repetitions, just as with the center crunches. After completing for one side, work on the other side. It is important when doing toning exercises to allow muscles to relax after each repetition of crunches. Take a few deep breaths and relax the muscles after performing the crunches. When performing the crunches, however, tense up the muscles, effectively isolating them so that they will get toned. Remember that one needs to work the entire abdominal area to achieve the look of a sculpted six-pack. Do both front crunches as well as side crunches that are performed on the back and side to achieve this.

Crunches may seem difficult at first, but will soon become easier. Increase the repetitions for more effective results. One usually see visible results after a week of performing these exercises. Try to do these exercises every day. If there is a need to skip a day, for some reason, just pick up the next day. Do not get discouraged if one get out of the habit. It is more important to get back into the habit as soon as possible.
