Make A Flat Stomach Your Goal

How to Get Rid of Belly Fat to Get a Flat Stomach and Six Pack Abs

Here are some scientifically proven weight loss facts you should consider if you want a well-proportioned flat stomach and six-pack abs. Low calorie diets simply do not work mainly because they have an adverse effect on your fat burning metabolism. Your body soon adapts to it and if the calorie deficit is too low the "starvation mode clicks-in" killing your metabolism and you begin to store fat.

With a reduced carbohydrate diet you need to be extremely strong-willed. Most of us are overweight because we are not strong-willed. This is why this type of diet has a very low success rate. The underlying principle here is that starving yourself always fails and it messes-up your fat burning metabolism. With these types of weight loss plans you will always have hunger pangs, feel low in energy, moody and short-tempered. When you go off the rails and most of you will, the weight just piles back on and all the weeks and months of sacrifices you've made would have all been in vain.

Now an effective scientifically proven 4 pronged weight loss plan is one that incorporates a unique system of eating and effective exercising such as with cardio and abdominal exercises. The scientifically tested plan is different to anything you may have tried before. This powerful fat burning system will guide you onto the path to finally getting rid of belly fat and flattening out your stomach on the way to a 6 pack in the shortest sustainable way possible.

1. Balanced Diet Regimen

To lazily kick-start and fire-up your metabolism you need to eat 5 or 6 modest meal a day rather than 3 large ones. By eating larger portions of food, a considerable amount remains undigested causing bloating. By eating smaller portions, this also helps to reduce your inner gut with time and you are never hungry. Simply, eat more food and lose weight.

Foods to avoid are processed ones that are filled with considerable amounts of fat, sugar, salt, stabilizers, colourings and other man-made chemicals. These also include white foodstuffs such as bread, pasta, rice, fizzy drinks, refined sugars, snacks, deserts, trans fats (crisps, margarine, shortenings), corn syrup- the lists goes on and on.

Good healthy food to include are oatmeal, olive oil, coconut oil, flaxseed oil, real butter, whole grain bread, coloured greens, free range eggs, fish, grass-fed beef, chicken, turkey, shellfish, green tea, still water and so on. These energizing foods contain a mix of complex carbohydrates, lean proteins and unsaturated fats as well as plenty of fibre. Remember to drink plenty of water and severely cut back on salt.

2. Cardio Workout

Interval training types of exercises are the scientifically proven ones that rapidly burn fat both during the exercise and for at least 48 hours afterwards also called the afterburn. These explosive types of workouts are performed in short sharp burst. For example, if you are running, simply run-flat out for 20 seconds followed by 30 seconds of walking and then repeat. Do this for about 15 to 20 minutes 2 to 3 times per week for positive results. Other successful fat busting cardio exercises to include are swimming, biking, step aerobics, elliptical trainer, rowing and so on. They all burn huge amounts of calories and will flatten stomach by getting rid of belly fat.

3. Resistance Workout

Building strong lean muscle is absolutely crucial to your fat burning success and your drive towards a chiselled looking six-pack abs. A pound of lean muscle can burn an extra 15 calories per day, 5 lbs. is about 75 calories. This is one of the most important reason to exercise while trying to lose fat - not to burn calories, but to prevent the loss of lean body mass.

The more lean muscle tissue you have, the more efficient is your fat burning system. Lifting heavy weights not only causes your muscle fibre to break up but also positively strengthens them as it heals.

Try and perform these resistance workouts for 30 to 45 minutes, 2 occasions per week. Leave a 1 to 2 day gap interval so that the muscles can happily heal and repair themselves. Remember to include a good source of protein in your thoughtful or well planned diet.

4. Ab Exercises

For ab definition and to show off that chiselled six-pack look add tried and tested ab exercises into your workout. The proven, useful ones are crunches, leg raises, pull ups, squats and so on. As always mix them up, add new ones and keep your body guessing so that it doesn't adapt. For successful and sustainable results, aim to work your abs 3 times per week!

If you're really fed up and ashamed of carrying around your big fat stomach and can't find nice fitting clothes- expert help is at hand. If you seriously want to follow an easy, expert tested fat burning system that simply works and is sustainable even for the lazy person, I encourage you to take Action right now. Tightening Skin on Your Stomach Post Pregnancy

Our tummies all grow with pregnancy, of course. Fortunately, they shrink back down again, although with many of us, they just aren't quite the same. Some of us have excess fat or that darn loose skin that just sort of hangs there. Tightening skin on your stomach can happen, but it will take time. I know, I know, that's not something you want to hear, but it's true. Want some tips and ideas to help speed up the process though? Great! Here they are:

1. Exercise. I can just hear the groans now. Sorry, because believe me, I know how tired you get from taking care of a baby, especially a newborn. I also know that caring for a baby takes up a lot of time, but exercise is going to be one of the best ways to go about tightening skin on your stomach. Try to exercise whenever you can fit it in. It can be walks with baby, getting to the gym, or doing workout DVDs at home (there are many DVDs now that offer 10, 20, 30 minute workouts if you have minimal time). Combining cardio with muscle toning is best to lose the tummy fat. Just doing ab exercises alone won't be good enough though, you need to lose the fat first, which is why you need the cardio as well. Some people have said that Pilates and yoga have helped with the toning. *Important Note: Make sure you get the "go ahead" from your doctor before doing any type of exercise. Women who have had c-sections generally have to wait longer than women who have delivered naturally.

2. Diet. More groans? I know, I hear you. Your diet is going to be another key factor in tightening that tummy. Now, I'm not saying to go on a diet, especially if you're breastfeeding, but just to eat a good healthy diet. You want to try to stick to things like fruits and veggies, lean proteins (chicken, fish, lean beef/pork, etc.) and whole grain foods. Check with your doctor first and get the "okay" from them before going on any diet that involves you cutting down on calories, etc.

3. Time. Tightening skin on your stomach is going to take time. Focus on losing your body fat and, as your body fat gets lower, your skin should tighten, but this will take time and therefore, patience on your part. It could take 1 to 2 years with a consistent exercise and healthy diet routine.

4. Uterus. After childbirth, your uterus is going to need a bit of time to shrink back to it's pre-pregnancy size. This generally takes a few weeks. Breastfeeding will aid the uterus to contract even more. So, if you've had your baby and you're sitting there thinking, "Ugh, I still look about 4-5 months pregnant", one of the reasons for this is the uterus still being in its larger state.

5. Water. Stay hydrated! Drinking the recommended daily amount of water will help you lose weight by keeping your metabolism up. It's also great for keeping you feeling more full and great for the skin!

6. Factors. There are a few factors that can contribute to your tummy shrinking. Things like genes, breastfeeding, your physical activity, weight gained during pregnancy, etc. Another example, if you've only had one child (as opposed to 2 or more), your odds are better for tightening skin on your stomach at a quicker rate. Factors such as genes, for example, may make it more difficult or take longer to tighten your tummy but again, just give it time, you can get there!

7. Pace. It is best to keep weight loss at a steady pace, not too quick. When you lose weight too fast, you don't give your skin time to catch up, resulting in excess skin.

8. Creams. Some people say that creams such as vitamin E, cocoa butter, moisturizer or Preparation-H have been known to help with tightening skin on their stomachs. Some also say exfoliants have helped too. I personally haven't tried any of these myself, so I can't say for sure, but I thought I'd add this information just in case you'd like to try it out and see if it benefits you.

9. Tummy Tuck. If you have given it your 100% effort, and really, really tried to tighten your tummy (which includes a consistently good diet and exercise routine for a good year or so), then a tummy tuck may be an option for you. I really believe that with dedication and patience that you can tighten your stomach without surgery but some women may decide that they want a tummy tuck in the end. It is a good idea to make sure you know the risks and also wait until you are done having children.

Conclusion? Don't give up on yourself, you can do this. Give yourself time, you had a whole human being inside you that grew to several pounds (maybe more pounds than you would've liked!), so it's going to take some time to shrink that back down again and tighten it up. Patience is going to be key for tightening skin on your stomach. All the best to you!

Exercise and Diet For A Flat Stomach Or 6-Pack Abs

Excessive belly fat isn't just unsightly - it's also very harmful to your health and well-being. Fortunately, there are a lot of options when it comes to the exercises and diet modifications to help you burn fat and achieve a flat stomach or even sport 6-pack abs.

For most people, getting a flat stomach is plenty good - they're not looking to go overboard with extreme exercise and nutrition regimes, but simply want to lower bodyfat to a healthier level. A certain level of fat is required to protect the joints and cushion internal organs, and these people simply want to move closer to that healthy level from being overweight or obese.

Some will stop at that point, but others will decide they like how much better they feel, how much more energy they have and how much more attention and positive re-enforcement they receive as they achieve noticeable weight loss - and they'll decide to go that extra mile and build 6-pack abs. If you're new to the term, having 6-pack abs refers to building your abdominal muscles and reducing the belly fat covering them to reveal the 2 vertical rows of muscle through your mid-section. Physiology differs from person to person, and you may find the area split in 4, 6 or 8 horizontal 'bumps', but since 6 is the most common occurrence your abdominal showcase is generically referred to as your 6-pack.

You've probably seen the saying that '6-packs are built in the kitchen' - this is an oversimplification and not really accurate. Like any other muscles, your abdominal muscles are built in the gym, using progressively heavier resistance and/or additional repetitions. No matter how well you build them though, they won't be visible unless you're following a healthy nutrition program that reduces belly fat to reveal the muscles you've built.

For most people it's adhering to the strict dietary program that is the hardest, not the exercising. This is because it's simply not possible to spot-reduce when burning fat. Instead, body fat reduction occurs proportionately over your whole body, and since your belly probably holds the most fat, you'll have to reduce fat levels a fair way to remove the bulk of it from your mid-section. Most people will find the muscles on their other body parts looking ripped before their abs look shredded - use that extra definition on your other muscles as motivation to continue with your quest for a 6-pack!

If you're just starting your weight loss journey, decide to aim for a flat stomach first. As you get close to that goal you'll have a much better understanding of what it takes to build and reveal your 6-pack abs and can decide at that point whether to continue on or just maintain the flat stomach you've achieved.

Aiming to go from overweight or obese to a 6-pack may prove to be too far-off an end goal to keep you on track and motivated, so break your quest into 2 or 3 parts and focus on one at a time, knowing all the while that you'll keep going as long as you find it worthwhile to continue. If you're overweight or obese and have been living a sedentary lifestyle, make an appointment with your doctor and hire a personal trainer - getting started and changing your mindset and activity level is actually the hardest step to take... But once you're on your path to a flat stomach or 6-pack abs, you'll love how much better you feel each and every day as your weight drops, your belly flattens, your energy soars and your self-confidence builds - welcome to your new healthier success lifestyle!

Studies suggest that consistently drinking water throughout the day can lead to a more active metabolism, regardless of dieting. Drinking enough water helps to flush toxins from your body, to remain hydrated, and to enable the fat burning foods to work properly for you. An average person should drink 8-10 8 oz. glasses each day. If you are an athlete or if you live in a dry area, you might need to drink more.
