Your weight has a lot to do with your personality. People tend to listen and believe smart people more than people with bellies bulging like wine drums. That is why so many people try so hard to maintain their weight. However, doing so, many people often end up believing in some common myths regarding weight loss, which turn out more harmful to them rather than being beneficial. In the lines below, some of those myths are busted:

Myth 1: Eating healthy is too difficult, not to mention too expensive!

Eating healthy foods is actually simple. You are never required to select expensive food alternatives like hard-to-find seafood and pricey white meat. You can easily choose cheap low fat foods in the form of fruits and veggies. There are also a lot of cheap protein and carbohydrate substitutes. Yes, shifting your regular diet from an unhealthy combo of purely fried main dishes, high-sugar drinks and junk foods for snacks or desserts to a healthier selection may be hard at first. But it is never impossible. It's just your mind that's telling you it's hard on you and your pocket. The psychology of your mind is resistant to change, so you must deal with it first.

Myth 2: I will surely lose weight when I don't eat at night.

The reason why this claim is so popular is probably because many individuals understand that the body digests food much slower at night compared to daytime. This may also be one of the reasons why popular fasting diets, such as the observance of fasting after 6PM, are so well-liked amount diet fanatics. While it is true that the body digests food faster at day, you should also avoid overeating at day or else you will still gain some weight instead of losing it.

There should be balance. Whenever you feel hungry at night, you should listen to your body and probably take in healthy food alternatives like all-natural smoothies, fruits and vegetable preparations. If you are actively participating in a physical regimen of workouts and exercises, you need to eat at more at night, so you can replenish your lost energy and calories. Just don't eat a lot and keep it sensible.

Myth 3: It is hard for me to lose weight because I'm naturally born to be fat.

Are there any other excuses here? Well, there's really no "fat" gene that dictates that you will become fat. There's only something that dictates your body's type of build and rate of metabolism. If you blame your fatness to genetics, then most likely you're just rationalizing. Being surrounded with sedentary family members that always eat dry or fried foods may predispose you to become fatter. Hence, you should start from there. Check the food you eat, your activity level and your lifestyle in general, so you can achieve weight loss.

Myth 4: The most basic principle of weight loss is to significantly trim down your daily calorie intake.

This claim is true, but only to some extent. It is correct given that you have been taking in an abnormally high amount of calories per day as opposed to your normal recommended calorie requirement, but what if you're a normal eater? There's a big chance that dieting will have an adverse effect on your body if you seriously cut down your calorie intake to the point of starvation. You might end up abnormally changing your body's normal metabolic rate because of this. Hence, you should first assess your calorie count and identify if you are taking in just too much or just enough. If it's the latter, perhaps you can just establish a physical exercise routine for weight loss and not change anything in your diet.

Know four more common myths about weight loss. Understand why you shouldn't believe these fictitious claims.
